BOONVILLE -- The completion date for a four-mile bypass around Boonville, Ind., has been pushed back two years to 2017. That was the word Wednesday from Troy Woodruff, deputy commissioner for the Vincennes District of the Indiana Department of Highways. "It's an unfortunate decision, but for every project we do, we look at need and financing," Woodruff said. "Stimulus dollars are going out the door and the bypass can no longer be a Major Moves project. We'll have to use traditional funding to get the job done, and that won't be easy because of the recession." The two-lane bypass around the Warrick County seat is estimated to cost $12.7 million. Link
