INDIANAPOLIS -- Marion County Health and Hospital Corp. is moving ahead with plans to build a roughly $50 million parking structure, the first phase of construction of the planned new Wishard Memorial Hospital complex. The corporation plans to release bid specifications today for a six-level parking garage that will have about 2,300 spaces, according to Matt Gutwein, chief executive of Health and Hospital Corp. The garage will be adjacent to the hospital and outpatient buildings that are all part of the $754 million complex to be built between 10th and Michigan streets on the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis campus Downtown.
