IPFW Files Plans For Alumni Center

FORT WAYNE -- Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne has filed plans to build a $1.5 million alumni center on Allen County-owned land just west of its campus. According to documents filed with the Fort Wayne Plan Commission, the 8,000-square-foot center would occupy a 2.4-acre site west of the St. Joseph River and east of the new Holiday Inn. Construction could start this spring, according to Walt Branson, vice chancellor for financial affairs, who said the facility will provide a gathering place for alumni as well as meeting rooms for community functions.
